Mr. Torres' Bio

Greg Torres has been the principal of Monterrey Elementary for the last 3 years. Prior to that he taught High School English and coached athletics at both Roswell and Goddard High School for 11 years in total. He was also the assistant principal of Sierra Middle school for 3 years. Mr. Torres earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education majoring in History with a minor in English from ENMU (2003). He then went on to attain a Master's degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University (2007) and is now in the early stages of his work towards a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership with a K-12 emphasis from Grand Canyon University. 
Mr. Torres, along with his wife, Olivia, and three girls, Courteney (20), Brooklyn (10), and Ava (4) enjoy traveling, amusement parks and visiting various beaches and museums along their destinations. 
Mr. Torres has brought a systems-based approach to the instructional and behavioral settings of Monterrey in attempt to provide reflective feedback and data-based instructional processes to best meet the needs and growth of all students of varying learning abilities. Through the buy-in and willingness of the Monterrey staff to do what is best for student learning, equity and equality of learning opportunities are attainable and within reach for all of our Monterrey Jaguars!
